Competency Rx

The evaluation of pharmacist competency is required to be completed on an annual basis. Many pharmacy administrators struggle to assess a pharmacist's competency, a number of pharmacist competency programs are based on subjective analysis by the pharmacy manager and/or designee with observation and sign off and/or a subjective test.

Competency Rx enables the director of pharmacy to more effectively and objectively measure and record the pharmacy staff member's competency. The product is web-enabled with secure log in access. It is comprised of four modules: case study evaluation, pharmacist intervention, medication misadventure review and adverse drug reaction results.

The results of the modules are summarized in a "dashboard scorecard" format for the director's review and documentation in the employee file. In addition, the results will be stored on FusionRx's secure website. Competency reviews are easily retrieved for review by a regulatory inspector, such as JCAHO. The goal of the tool is to improve patient care and safety while meeting accreditation requirements.
